Hey Shan’L! Thank you so much for participating and leading at WEBE BodyMovin! We’re ALL bubbling with excitement and I know that people will be lining up for your class on Friday. I have known you for a while now and people definitely recognize you as a dancer with great talent, in addition to being a smart, fit, and fashionable lady! I know you are definitely a great role model and we are so lucky for you to teach us.

Now time for the burning questions everybody has…

1. Tell us all about yourself, your accomplishments, goals in the future, and what you are doing now. We want to know all about you! No time to be shy here!

Right now, I’m trying to focus on school and trying to get into an Entry-Level Masters program for nursing. I’ve also been volunteering at Providence Saint Joseph’s Emergency Department which has been an eye-opening and humbling experience. I always knew I wanted to help people and volunteering gave me an opportunity to do just that. Not only do I get to interact with patients but I also get to learn first-hand what EMTs, nurses, and doctors do in the emergency room. This has definitely solidified my decision to go into the medical field.

2. Tell us something interesting (or weird) about yourself.

I did martial arts for 8 years and eventually earned a first degree black belt. I also have crazy cravings for different combinations of food. For example, I’m always craving eggs with dill pickles, popcorn, and coffee. Weird, huh?

3. What interested you to start dancing in the first place?

When I was little, all I can remember was just dancing every time my parents would turn on the radio. I especially loved Paula Abdul’s, “Straight up.”

4. What is your favorite form of dance? Has it always come naturally to you?

I’m really into Latin right now. My favorites would have to be salsa, bachata, and cha cha. I’m not sure if it comes naturally to me. There is technique involved and when people start learning something new, they have to start in the beginning to learn the foundation of that certain genre of dance. My fascination for dance fuels my desire to keep learning new things.

6. Other than dancing, what do you like to do to exercise and keep fit?

Other than dancing, I like to go hiking and running to keep fit. Also, I’ll try to do some P90x or Insanity icon smile WEBE BodyMovin! Trainer Spotlight: Shan’L Hutalla

15. What is your favorite quote that motivates and inspires you?

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
-Leo Buscaglia
